Dear Friends,
We want to once again thank you for your faithful prayer, love, and support for us. God continues to bless. We have had a good winter (lots of snow and cold), and are now rejoicing in the spring season, and the special time of Easter to remember our Savior's victory.
Kristin's parents came to visit us for two weeks in March. This is always a wonderful time for us to be with them, and the children love it. Kristin lead a special ladies meeting on March 4, where her mother spoke. 125 ladies attended, and heard the gospel. Pray for Kristin and the ladies of our church as they follow up on the many new contacts that have been made.
Once again Marian and I have had the opportunity to till gardens for people in Fundulea and Florica. I have tilled 157 gardens, and Marian probably as many. We use this as an evangelistic tool, and have placed over 200 gospel of John and Romans into the hands of the folks for whom we have tilled. This is unique, as had I as the Baptist pastor come to their gate to give them a gospel, the majority would have turned me down, but here they are inviting me into their yard/garden and all have gladly received the booklets, and have been very open to discussion about spiritual matters. Salvation like our tractor tilling is free! Praise the Lord! As you can see, I had a couple little helpers in Florica as well.
Our church continues to grow. We have had three babies born this winter, and one of them was dedicated to the Lord last month. Last week on Palm Sunday after speaking about Jesus being the Resurrection and the Life, 10 people acknowledged that they had prayed to receive Christ. We celebrate Easter this weekend here in Romania, and we have planned a special meeting at the local soccer field and invited many people to come. Pray the gospel would be clearly proclaimed, heard, and understood.
You will notice on the attachment, a small picture of Kristin and Viorica. This is a lady who has no home, and was living in a makeshift plastic covered shelter made of small wooden boards and blankets. Last fall the mayor allowed her to live in a room in the abondoned hospital here in Fundulea. Ladies from our church have been taking her food since then, and she has begun coming to church, and faithfully reading her Bible she has been given. Her situation is desperate, someone through a brick at her and hurt her hip, she now walks with a walker. She has no insurance, and no family to speak of, except a son of 50, who was taken to the hospital last year after an epileptic seizure, and she knows nothing of his whereabouts. Please include this lady in your prayers.
Great news, last week we purchased land in Florica to build a church in that town. We are waiting on the paper work to clear and Lord willing will be getting drawings, and approvals done soon so we can begin construction. Please pray with us, as we still need to raise about $15,000 to get the main work done on the building to use it. Please pray also for the approvals, and building permit process to go smoothly.
God bless, and please continue to pray for us! Take a chance to look at the attached pictures!

Dear Praying Friends,
What a winter wonderland we have been enjoying here in Romania. The snow is abundant and very beautiful, and has provided many opportunities to enjoy the outside. The snow and extremely cold weather have also been a very real problem for many here in Romania that have been blocked off from the outside world by snowdrifts and power outages due to downed lines, etc. Thank for your prayers for these folks.
Two weeks ago we told you that Michael's basketball team from Bucharest Christian Academy was going to Budapest Hungary for a tournament among international schools in Europe. I actually had the opportunity to go with them, and it was a great experience for this young team. They ended up in fifth place, but won the sportsmanship trophy and were a crowd favorite due to their friendliness. Michael had the honor of being selected to the all tournament team. We are thankful for the opportunity that our children have to be involved in athletics, as we remember how much of an impact sports, and coaches had in our lives during our formative years.
We rode the night train to Hungary, and on the return trip, Michael and I got off in Brasov, a city in the mountains. Kristin brought the rest of the family and the snowboards and necessary winter wear. We planned to stay on night, but a snow storm hit, and schools were closed and we ended up staying four days. It was incredble with the beautiful fresh snow, and we were housed right across the street from the ski slopes. All of the children learned to ski, except Michael who got to use his snowboard (Christmas present) for the first time.
We are thankful for times like this during the business of life that God causes us to slow down and rejoice in what He has created around us. The mountains, snow, huge evergreens with branches haning low full of snow, the fresh air, and a little rest were all a blessing of God.
Thanks for those of you who communicated with us regarding help for the childrens school bill in response to our last zipline, you are an encouragement and a blessing.
These last two months have been fruitful, and a blessing to us. From our church in Fundulea we have three church plants, and a fourth location where one of our young families is involved in youth and childrens ministry, not mentioning "Camp Eli" in Ojasca. Please pray for our TITUS team as they minister in these new locations:
Ady & Niky Cojoc - Youth and Childrens ministry in Ogoru; Worship Pastor in Fundulea
Beni & Ana Harlea - Youth Minister in Fundulea
David & Stefy Harlea - Pastor in Sinesti
Ion & Nina Bordea - Planting church in Valea Argovei
Lucian & Carmen Bordea - Planting church in Florica
Florin & Ana Tamas - assisting church plants, leadership in Fundulea
Jean and Florica Palangeanu - administrating Camp Eli
We have been praying for some time for a place in Florica to worship, and we have just received funds to purchase a piece of land and start the process of approvals for building a church building in that town. We still need to raise appr $25,000 to be able to complete the building. Please pray with us to have wisdom, and the Lord's direction as we proceed.
We love you and are thankful that God has used you to assist us in this ministry here in Romania. Be Blessed!
Gerald and Kristin Ziemer

Dear Praying Friends,
God is so good to us, He faithfully supplies all of our needs We are so thankful that He uses so many people to assist and support us in the ministry here in Romania. Over this Christmas season we have had many blessings.
A sunday school in South Carolina, and a summer/fall intern generously gave so that we could make 200 Christmas packets to give out to children in five different locations where we minsiter. In the past we have recieved shoeboxes from Samaritians Purse, but over the last three years have been refused due to some issues with the local coordinator. We were able to put together a very nice bag of goodies for the boys and girls to rejoice in. I had a fun day at the Chinese market outside of Bucharest with Joel Soape as we picked out 200 of this, and 200 of that to put in these bags. We assembled them after prayer meeting one Thursday night, and you can see the joy on the childrens faces when they received them.
Our dear Brother Jean, our caretaker at Camp Eli is now with the Gideons, and was on hand at Christmas for our childrens club package give-away. He presented each family represented with a New Testament. We are in need of Bibles that we can give away on our many different evangelistic outreaches. We can purchase Bibles here, but need your help to do so. If you would like to help us purchase Bibles, please let us know!
We had a fall childrens club with a trip to Ojasca after New Years as the prize for attendance. We had appr 60 people with leaders, and it was a blessing. Those with perfect attendance were rewarded with a brand new pair of shoes. We enjoyed nice weather and even had a campfire one night. The Romanian schools had three week winter break this year, and the last week we were able to take about 40 children from our four mission points to camp. What a great time they had, some had never taken a shower (others did not know how to regulate the water temperature cold/hot). Our national missionaries lead this camp, and they were really excited about the decisions these children made to accept and follow Christ.
December and January have seen share groups at different homes each Sunday evening for those not out on ministry at our church plants. It has been a neat time of sharing, singing, praying, and the highlight has been hour long games of "Bible Trivia". It has really been a neat time to see the things these believers have learned from the Word of God, and the desire they have to continue learning. For New Years our teens went to Camp Eli, and the adults gathered at church before breaking off to two homes for fellowship in ringing in 2012.
We have also seen God supply financially, another $1,600 has come in for our cabin renovation project at camp (only $3,000 ore needed). We thank each of you who has prayed or given for this project. It is the time of year again that we need to pay our childrens second semester of schooling at Bucharest Christian Academy. If you would like to help with this need, it would be greatly appreciated. Michael and Zachary are both on the basketball team, and they have had a few games and scrimmages. It has been fun to watch them play, and rejoice in their developement. Pray for the team as they head to Budapest, Hungary for a tournament with Christian schools from all over Europe Feb 8-11.
We also had an uninvited guest show up at our house for four weeks, the CHICKEN POX. Brianna had them for two weeks, and then shared them with Zachary. They were pitiful, but Praise the Lord are doing better now!
God Bless, and please take time to look at the attached pictures!

Dear Praying Friends,
We wanted to write and tell you how much we appreciate your faithful prayer and support this fall for the ministry here in Romania. As you see on the “Thank You Note” attached, God is doing a great work in our midst. We trust that you had a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year. Here are a few highlights from this fall!
- Six people baptized on Dec 4
- 13 responded to the invitation at the baptism, and want to start our "new believers class" preparing for baptism
- 4 Baby dedications this fall (two would have been aborted had God not intervened and answered prayer) (two more in the very near future)
- 174 children attended our kids klub meetings this fall at least once
- 63 students enrolled in the Evangelical Religion "Bible" class at the two public schools here in Fundulea
- 19 years of marriage celebrated by Kristin and I
- 1 intern, Joel Soape, who lived and ministered with us for 5 1/2 months
- 3 mission teams that came, 2 lead church reatreats at Camp Eli, the other refinished the exterior of 5 cabins
- 1 Missions Pastor visited for 5 days
- $6,400 given for the refinishing of the cabins, $4,600 still needed ($1,100 needed per cabin)
- 2 Hope Baptist Church retreats at Camp Eli in Ojasca
- 28 attended last week for prayer meeting at the church plant in Florica, finances needed desperately to build a church in this town
- 1 New church plant in Valea Argovei
- 14, how old Corina was this week on her birthday
These are a few examples of the rewards we have seen in ministry because you have chosen to give us this opportunity to serve here in Romania. May God richly bless you!

Sara
Dear Friends,
God continues to bless here, and we are awed to be a part of His ministry. We were made aware recently that many of you may not have received our Ziplines over the past three months, and we are resending some and including our TITUS website for those who wish to go and see our previous updates. www.titusinternational.org
This fall we have had two more baby dedications, and each is a special story. Little Abel is from the town of Florica where we are in the process of planting a church. His parents, Stefan and Mariana, hosted us in their home each Sunday night last year for Bible study, prayer, and fellowship. They had recently received Christ, and soon found out they were expecting their fourth child. their first response was to abort the child because there was no way they would be able to support this child as well as the other three. The Lord worked in their hearts, and they were challenged by our missionaries, Lucian and Carmen, to trust God for His provision. They decided to do this and little Abel was born this fall, and is a blessing to them.
We also asked God's blessing over little Sara, who was born to Sister Lucica, who is a member in our church. You will remember from our email prayer requests in the spring she was diagnosed with a cancerous growth on her eye, and the doctors wanted to operate and start chemo/radiation right away. They stated that she would need to abort the baby before chemo could start. She sought out medical advice, and we sought a mriacle from God. Many of you prayed for her as well. We believe that God placed His hand upon her, healed her, and now a few months later she is the mother of another beautiful little girl.
Please continue to pray for her husband's, Marian, salvation, and ongoing physical difficulties for their second son Madalin, who suffered trauma at birth and is partially handicapped.
The ministry in Florica continues to grow, we are now meeting at the home of Gheorghe, Stefan's father who has a slightly larger room to offer for our meetings. We have seen God working in the hearts of many in this town, and expecting Him to do greater things. We are praying for God to supply funds to purchase a piece of land and build a church in this town. As a result of the ministry in Florica, we have been in contact with some believers from Valea Argovei, who are relatives with Vandana, the lady murdered this summer by her husband in Florica. They invited us to their town to start a church, and we have finished a large room attached to this families house, and are now holding services there three times a week. Many of them had heard the gospel previously, but had no one to teach them. Our church elder, Ion Bordea, is leading this ministry. This town is 31 miles from Fundulea.
Thanks for your prayers and support for the ministry here in Romania.
Please join with us in asking God to raise up the funds for land and a building in Florica, it is a great need.
God Bless,
Gerald and Kristin

Dear Praying Friends,
Many of you will remember our zipline in September reporting on the condition of our cabins at camp, and their need for repair. We would like to share with you that over the course of 7 weeks we were able to do the necessary repairs, and are now prepared to enter the winter with refinished and newly insulated cabins. With the help of Joel Soape, an intern from Texas, a couple men from our church, a few christian brothers from a town near our camp, and a great team from Texas we were able to finish this project before the really cold winter months set in. We managed to finish the first five cabins by the end of October. The first week of November we hosted the group from Mobberly Baptist in Texas who assisted us in finishing the remaining five cabins. Please look at the attached pictures, they really came out looking great, are insulated, and should resist much longer now.
The first step was chipping up the cracked concrete around the cabins, and carrying that stuff away. We then repoured new concrete around the cabins, insuring a slope for the water to drain away from them. Next we installed 2" by 2"s vertically with insulation between them, and then horizantally to mount the metal to. It was much hard work, especially carrying the concrete up the hill. We were able to change some of the wiring, install new lights on the exterior of the cabins.
We then secured the metal in place, having to make the necessary cuts around all the windows, doors, and slope of the roof on the front and back. Very time consuming, but well worth the trouble. When we finished, my back needed a chiropractor, something we have not found in Romania. The doors have since been taken off and sanded and refinished, and Lord willing we will be installing electric heaters in four of the cabins next week.
Our initial estimate was under what it cost us to refinish these cabins. The total cost per cabin was $1,100 for a total of $11,000.
God provided through two generous gifts $6,400 so far. If you would like to make a financial contribution for the work on these cabins, we would greatly appreciate it. This was a project done by faith, but it was necessary. Had we not done something now, I feel we would have had greater repair (maybe even replacement) costs later. We are presently in need of $4,600 to totally pay for all the work that was done. Please pray with us that God would raise up these funds before years end.
We are so thankful for all of the youth that have come through our camp, and been challenged to give their lives to Christ. In the last week of October we hosted a church retreat along with some great friends from Calvary Baptist in Chattanooga (Red Bank). We had a great number from our mission points come, and they went away challenged to follow Christ whatever happens.
Thanks for taking time to read this update, and please keep us in our prayers as we seek to serve the Lord with all we have here in Romania.
Gerald and Kristin

Dear Praying Friends,
Fall is closing in here in Romania, the nights are beginning to be cool which is so refreshing, and the leaves are beginning to change colors. Yesterday I spent the day at Camp Eli, going through some paperwork and submitting some forms to the local police for our security services. I also spent some time looking at the condition of the facilities to see what needs to be done to prepare for winter. Upon looking at the cabins closer, I realized a couple are in need of immediate repair, and the rest are not far behind. They are wooden cabins, and were built in the fall of 2004. They have been sanded and varnished 3 times since then, and even with this there is some significant water damage to some of the lower boards. My desire is to insulate the cabins with 2" styrofoam, and then cover them with metal sheeting. By my estimates this will cost approximately $750 per cabin. Would you consider helping us with this project, maybe a SS class could raise the needed funds for one cabin, or a church could help with this project. There are 10 cabins total, please note in the attached pictures girls cabins 1-5.
This summer we had over 700 campers that attended Camp Eli, all were challenged, and praise the Lord many were changed. We are so thankful for the wonderful camp God has given us, and are so thankful for so many of you who have so generously given for us to reach these children. I have four young ladies in my new believers class at church preparing for baptism who all received Christ at Camp Eli.
This week we are having special prayer meetings with our church at 5:00 am. God has opened three doors of ministry in three towns, and we are praying for God to raise up teams out of our church to lead the evenglistic and church planting work in these towns, In one of them, Florica, we are in the process of negociating the purchase of a piece of land to build a small church building.
We so much appreciate your prayers and support for us and the ministry here, God is at work and is blessing!
Gerald and Kristin Ziemer
Dear Praying Friends,
God continues to bless. The children have all started school now and summer has officially ended. This summer we completed our new clubhouse in the backyard to the point that we were able to sleep in it a few nights, what family fun.
God really blessed the ministry this summer, and gave us safety with all of our travel, camps, evangelistic outreaches, bible clubs, and personal travels. Michael 10th grade, Corina 8th grade, and Zachary 5th grade are all attending Bucharest Christian Academy, an english speaking christian school in Bucharest. Brianna 2nd grade, is still here in Fundulea at the Romanian public school. I will once again be teaching my Evangelical Christianity (Bible) classes every Friday at the two public schools here in Fundulea, I should have close to 60 students this year. God has always provided for our children's funding for school, and once again this year we are asking Him to provide. We really appreciate the school our children are in, and praise the Lord for all who have sacrificially given each year for this need. If you would like to help with this expense this year please contact us, or send a gift to TITUS and note that your gift is for the Ziemer children's schooling.
I am including a picture of our recent trip to Moldova, and all of our TITUS nationals and missionaries that were gathered for this event. It was such a blessing.
Within the last two months God has blessed our church families with four new babies. Beni and Ana our youth pastor have a new baby boy, Eduard. Marian and Magda Tunguna have a baby girl, Sara, their pictures are included of the dedication services. Also, Lucica gave birth premature, and Lord willing this weekend will bring her baby girl home, also named Sara. You will remember that this is our miracle baby that God saved this past spring when Lucica was diagonised with cancer, and the doctors told her to abort. Last night I had the opportunity to visit our newest baby boy, Abel in Florica, he is 12 days old, (we had a great talk, Abel and I!) We have two more expectant mothers in our church presently (that we know of!)
Sunday, we started a new believers class here in Fundulea for those who desire to follow the Lord in believers baptism. I have 7 people who are in this class, and what a joy to sit and listen as they shared testimonies of how God brought each of them to this point in their lives. We have another 7 people in Florica who have requested to be baptised as well, and we ask that you please pray for us as we disciple these first believers in this new town we have begun ministering in. We really desire to plant a church and build a building in this town, and are praying for the Lord to supply the funds necessary to do this. Every Sunday we bring a van load of people from Florica to worship with us here in Fundulea.
Thanks once again for your continued prayers and support, we need you to reach Romania with the gospel.
Gerald and Kristin Ziemer

Dear Friends,
We want to thank you once again for your incredible partnership with us to reach Romania with the gospel. Thank you so much for your faithful support in June, July, and August. We realize that many are struggling financially during these hard times in the states, and we have noticed this personally. We also know that God is faithful, and we were able to pay for all the camps/campers this summer!
We have seen many victories this summer, with evangelism in Sinesti, Florica, and Fundulea. Camps for children, junior high, teens, and families. Outreach events to Valea Argovei, and Frasinet. God brought four different teams from the states plus three college interns to help us with the ministry this summer. Many of our church people have pitched in to help lead camps, organize evangelistic events, transport people, setup equipment, and come alongside us to assist. We had a great retreat with our TITUS national and missionary staff in Moldova. Michael and Corina were leaders in a day camp in Moldova in August.
We hope that you enjoy the pictures attached as a way of our saying "Thank you" to you. One of the pictures needs special attention. In the center left there is a picture of Joel (six month intern) with three children, Flory, Gina, and Fanel. Their story: Their mother, Vandana, came to our evangelistic meetings last winter held in Florica and prayed to receive Christ. She visited our church in Fundulea, and told us she had a sister who was a "repenter" in Valea Argovei. During the week we did evangelism in Florica this summer (children's club - afternoon, teen sports evangelism - late afternoon, adult meetings - evenings) a tragedy happened in this family. An infant baptism took place in town that her husband attended, and upon its completion he was offered alcohol. He consumed the alcohol, much too much alcohol, and came home and beat his wife who was 8 months pregnant with their fourth child. Vandana was rushed to the hospital where she lost the child and was in a coma for four days. On Thursday of that week she died, and the funeral was set for Saturday. We visited with the family and were deeply touched by their need, and openess. On Saturday evening after we finished the meeting, I remained after almost everyone had left and was talking to the two daughters of Vandana. The words coming out of the mouth of this young 11 year old girl, who had just buried her mother that day, broke my heart. She stated that she would no longer be able to attend school (5th grade this year), because you must have money to buy books, and the necessary items. She would have to work to take care of her younger sister and brother. I challenged her to find out what she needed for school and we would buy her books all the way through school, even if she went to college. What joy on her face as our missionaries to Florica, along with Joel took them shopping last week to get all the necessary items they needed for school this year, and the picture you see was taken that day.
What a privilege to be able to help people in need, but especially with their greatest need of a Savior. These children faithfully ride our van to Fundulea for services on Sunday, and are learning about the love of Jesus Christ, lived out in front of them by our church family. Praise the Lord. We have 7 in new believers class preparing for baptism in Fundulea, and 7 more who have expressed interest in Florica. Pray for us to find the funds necessary to build a chapel in Florica for these people to gather for worship.
The children are all doing well, school has started, summer is behind us. As always we thank those of you who have helped us with funds for their schooling in the past. This year we have three at Bucharest Christian Academy. Michael 10th grade, Corina 8th grade, and Zachary 5th grade. Brianna is in 2nd grade here in Fundulea, where I teach Evangelical Christianity (Bible) on Fridays. Mom is the library helper at BCA on Tuesday's, so we are all in school!
Please know that you are loved, and appreciated from over here in Romania!
Gerald and Kristin Ziemer

Dear Friends,
After an incredibly busy and fruitful summer, today Michael, Corina, and Zachary started school at Bucharest Christian Academy. Lord willing over the next few days we will be sending out a series of Ziplines to update all of you who have been faithfully praying for us, and supporting us, to inform you of how the Lord blessed this summer. You are a vital part of this ministry, we appreciate you very much.
Romanian schools ended for their summer break on June 17, and the next day we had our first group arrive (Berean Baptist, Ohio) to help us with our children's camp. They actually missed a plane due to bad weather and arrived Sunday at midnight and we took them straight to camp. Monday morning the campers arrived and we had one of our biggest camps with 115 people total on campus. The "space theme" was exciting as we taught the children about the Lord and the "Blastoff" song (Somewhere in outer space, God has prepared a place...). It was great to renew acquaintence with the youth leaders Jason and Jodie, and to meet their new pastor Seth, and to spend time with the young people that came from the church and served alongside our counselors and staff. God worked and we had a number of these children make decisions for Christ.
Michael and Corina were once again counselors, and did a great job. This camp was a reward to the children who had faithfully attended our childrens club in Fundulea this spring, and we were joined by children from four other locations. Look at the attached picture of our Children's camp group.
The week of June 27 we had a week of evangelsim in Sinesti. We had Children's Club during the days, 32 boys camp and 29 girls. We went through the wordless bracelet that week, Heaven, Adam & Eve, Christ death, Resurrection, and spiritual growth. Many of these children prayed to receive Christ as their personal Savior. In the evenings we had outdoor meetings and the gospel was proclaimed through song, testimony, and preaching of the Word of God. Although rain threatened a couple nights, we were able to take cover under the pop-up tents we had set up, and five adults made a decision to give their life to Christ. Many others came and heard the Word, pray for their souls to be saved.
We have also attached a couple pictures of this evangelistic outreach in Sinesti, please take a moment to look at them.
At the end of that week we had three young people come to stay with us for a longer period, Skyler and Katie for 6 weeks, and Joel for 6 months. They have been a blessing and encouragement in the ministry, it has been a very busy sumer, and at one point I thought we might wear them out, but they survived. The girls are now back in the states at college, and Joel is still alongside us. God blessed their time here, and I believe they were challenged with the needs her for people to see the love of Christ, and hear the clear gosple message.
The week of July 4 we spent a couple days at camp installing a new water tank and cutting grass. Then we had a couple days of relaxing in the mountains of Romania. See the attached picture of our family by the waterfall.
Thanks to all for your faithful support and prayers.
Gerald and Kristin Ziemer

Dear Friends and Family,
Last week I wrote you about the three children in Florica whose mother was beaten and killed by their father the week we were there doing evangelism in July. Thanks so much for your care and interest. We had a dear friend give us $200 for these children for school supplies. Today our deacon, Lucian, and his wife, Carmen, brought these three children to Fundulea and purchased school uniforms, winter clothes, shoes, underwear, hair bands/ties, socks, shirts, and new flip flops for them and Fanel their little bro! They also purchased books, pens, pencils, pencil case/school kit, and school supplies for them as well. Flory is entering 5th grade, Gina 1st grade, and Fanel will be in kindergarten.
Our friend Joel who is here for six months went with them, and he says: "So this morning was such a blessing for me. You have never seen 2 more excited and happy girls than Flory and Gina were this morning as we went to get them clothes. They were overjoyed. I wish you could have been here to see them, but since you were not, I went and took pics :) Here are a few of them:"

These children are precious and are present every Sunday morning at church. They will need continued support in the future, if you want to help with a financial gift you can send it to:
TITUS International
1515 McBrien Road
Chattanooga, TN 37412
mention that the gift is for the ministry in Florica/children
We will see that it gets to these children.
God Bless,
Gerald and Kristin Ziemer
Dear Friends,
Thanks for reading these emails and keeping us in your prayers. God watched over us this summer and even though we had a few visits from different inspectors at camp, we had no problems. Our newly installed water tank, helped us to have enough water when the water was shut off from time to time, and things went relatively smooth. Most of the summer was cooler than normal here in Romania for some reason.
On July 29 our fourth group came to help lead our teen/young adult camp. It was a blessed time as we had youth from four different locations gathered to study the Word of God, and be challenged to live their lives pure before the Lord. The group that came from the states consisted of mainly college students, and they encouraged much by their testimony and lives. Pastor Eric also challenged the teens from the Word, and I believe all were challenged to live a life more focused on eternal things.
The week of Aug 8 we had evangelistic events in Fundulea. We had 39 boys and 42 girls attend our daily children's club and hear about what Jesus did for them on the cross. We had sports events for teens in the late afternoon at the local elementary school Brianna attends, the gospel was given and many there heard the Word. In the evenings we held our outdoor meeting at the Institute in town where we desire to reach out to 130 families who live there with no gospel witness. We were rained out the first night, but had two nights to proclaim the truth of the gospel through song, testimony, and preaching of the Word. Not many people came directly to where we were set up, but sat at various places around the little park and were attentive to the words that were being spoken. Corina and Skyler had the opportunity to lead two young ladies to Christ, how exciting to see my little girl and her love for our Savior! Please notice teh picture attached.
On Aug 13 our two young college interns left, and the Soape family came from New Braunfels, TX came to spend the week with us. Their son Joel is staying with us for 6 months, and they came to visit. We put them to work, by preaching at church on Sunday, and then speaking for our family camp the next week. It was a refreshing time for all after a busy summer, one man, Valeriu, prayed to receive Christ at camp. He had attended church the week before for the first time, and came to camp with us.
The week of Aug 22 took us to the country of Moldova to meet up with our TITUS team missionaries from that country who are working in many different countries, and what a blessed time of fellowship we had together. Our missionaries from Ukriane were there as well. We had a great time with Pastor Mike Donald, chairman of TITUS board, as he spoke to us from the Word, and every night we heard reports of what God is doing in different countries here in Eastern Europe. Missionaries from Romania, Moldova, Ukriane, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Siberia, and other places attended. We were refreshed.
Many of you will remember Lucica, who we asked prayer for a few months back, pregnant with cancer. She gave birth prematurely two weeks ago to a little girl, and we ask that you pray for her as she continues to grow. She is still in the hospital, and I am thankfulr for our church folks who have gone by to see her, and the ladies that have helped clean her house and help feed her children during this time, what a blessing.
Thanks so much for your prayers and support, without you it would be impossible to continue ministry here! God Bless,
Gerald and Kristin
Dear Friends,
God is good all the time, the fact that He would choose to use us in His work is humbling.
On July 9 we had our third group arrive for the summer to assist us with our junior high camp. It was a great group of folks that came from Mobberly Baptist, Texas, and were very prepared to fill every moment of the day for the campers. They had prepared an incredible program, and were very detailed and organized (I knew this before hand when I saw their list of 126 things "to bring to camp"). It was a wonderful week, we had youth from 7 different locations together. These youth were challenged with problems and age appropriate subjects that adolescents face in everyday life, and how to respond Biblically. There is a battle going on for the lives, souls, and minds of our young people, and God blessed this week with some great victories. Listen up...God's Word is true! (our motto)
God used many of you to provide the funds for the needy camper scholarships for our children's camp and this junior high camp, for which we are very thankful.
The week of July 18-24 we had evangelistic events all week in Florica right in the middle of town on the soccer field. Monday we mowed the grass on the field (first time in a long while). This is a town that we mentioned last winter during our furlough that we want to plant a church. We had childrens club every afternoon, 48 boys came and 42 girls attended. We once again taught the wordless book message for five days. We had a trampoline set up, tetherballs, basketball hoops, face painting, and many activities for the children to enjoy. Many of thses children prayed to receive Christ.
In the late afternoon, our teens from our church in Fundulea came and did evangelism using sports to reach out to the teens of this town. On Saturday they organized a soccer tournament, and used the opportunity to share the gospel with all who played.
Each evening we had a service where we had special music, testimonies, and preaching of the Word of God. Many of our church members from Fundulea came and after the services would split up and talk with people about the gospel message that had been given. We had many people pray to receive Christ. Many have visited our church in Fundulea, and we are praying for the Lord to give us a piece of land soon to build a church in their town. We need funds to do this, and are asking Gods people to pray with us about this need.
The week we were in this town, was one of extreme emotions, the local priest came to many of our meetings and would go from person to person in the crowd and tell them to leave, and that they should not be there. Many of our folks talked with him at great length, about the Bible, grace, freedom in Christ, and salvation. On the next to last night I talked with him for over an hour, my challenge to him was to be an example for people to follow, and to teach the truths of the Bible. When I told him that the Bible teaches that the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses our sin (I John 1:7, Col 1:14), he stated, "Yes the Bible says that, but we teach that the baptism water of an infant is what washes their sins away." How can you know the truth of the Bible and then blatently teach something opposite???
Last winter a lady from Florica named Vandana came to the home meetings we were having and accepted Christ. She attended our church in Fundulea a couple times, and told us she had a sister that was a believer also who lives in Valea Argove. On July 17, in Florica, there was a baby baptism and her husband attended that baptism, then as is custom was served alcohol, much, too much alcohol, and came home and beat Vandana who was 8 months pregnant. She was rushed to the hospital where the dead baby was removed, and she remained in a coma. After four days in a coma she died as a result of the beating she had endured at the hands of her drunk husband. We visited with the family throughout the week, and went to the viewing on Friday. Her funeral took place on Saturday July 23, the next to last day of our evangelistic activities. She has three children 11, 8, and 3 years old. These children were at our meetings, and after the Saturday night meetings I spoke with them. The 11 year old with maturity beyond her years was telling me how she was going to have to quit school because she had no money to buy books, and she would have to take care of her siblings. My heart broke as I heard this story of a young girl who had buried her mother that day. I told her that we would help her to buy books for school, and that she needed attend. Please take a look at the pictures of these young girls, and please pray for them. Pray for us as we desire to reach this town with the gospel.

Summer Interns
Dear Praying friends!
Another summer is upon us, the Romanian schools get out tomorrow, which means another season of summer camp is set to begin! We have been so blessed to have our own camp, and it has truly been a blessing to many youth and children over the past 5 years! Monday we start our children's camp with 78 campers, a group from Berean Baptist in Ohio, and many counselors, and helpers. 62 of these campers are from Fundulea and have faithfully attended our Children's Club on Saturdays for the past three months! The others are from the villages where we are planting churches.
To this point we have received very little by way of sponsorships for needy campers for this summer, and we need your help. Every year God has provided and we have been able to take many children and youth to camp that can not afford to go otherwise. We are asking God's people to give generously so that these young people can come and be challenged by the Word of God and their lives will be changed. We need about 150 scholarships in total for the four camps we organize at $80 per camper. This is not money that we have budgeted and need you to pray with us for God to provide these funds.
If you would like to help, please send all gifts to:
TITUS International
1515 McBrien Road
Chattanooga, TN 37412
Please note that gift is for Camp Eli-Romania.
Thanks for your prayers for us. While mowing the grass at camp two weeks ago, one of our young men slipped and got his foot cut very badly under the lawn mower. He cut off 1 1/2 toes, and spent 11 days in the hospital. He got the cast removed yesterday, and is healing well. He worked at our camp for about three years previously, then got saved, and I had the opportunity to baptize him a couple years ago. He just returned from a year long mission to gypsy communities in Italy four days before he cut his foot. Please pray for his continued healing, Leonard Ciungu is his name. He witnessed to the doctors, and many others in the hospital. Great attitude, as I was transporting him to the hospital he was quoting Romans 8:28.
The children all did well this year in school, always a blessing to realize another school grade behind us. God used all of them to influence others with the gospel.
We trust that you are well, and God Bless,
Gerald and Kristin Ziemer
Dear Praying Friends,
I send along another prayer request for you to lift to the throne for us. Many of you will remember Leonard, the young man who worked at Camp Eli for three years before accepting the Lord. He asked me to baptize him back in the summer of 2009. He has been in Italy for the last year serving the Lord among the gypsy camps there and returned to Romania last Friday. We were going to camp to mow the grass this week and I called and asked him to come and help us, really more desiring to see him and talk about his time in Italy, and the ministry God gave them there.
He was helping us mow, when he slipped and his foot went under the lawn mower. It was a really nasty cut (cuts), and I rushed him to the hospital. He has multiple fractures and cuts on his foot, and lost 1 & 1/2 of his tows, they were hanging by a small piece of skin and could not be saved. When he came out of surgery, and was waiting for x-rays to be done, he told me "God saw fit to leave me with 4 tows on my right foot!"
In the van on the way to the hospital he was thanking the Lord it was not worse, quoting Romans 8:28. In the operating room he was witnessing to the staff. He was most upset that he had to remain in the hospital and did not have his Bible with him. I have a friend with the Bible League in that city (Buzau) and his son brought over a Bible for Leo to have.
Please pray for our dear brother during this time of need, physical recovery, financial needs, and for his spiritual hunger to remain strong! I just spoke with him on the phone, and the pain has subsided somewhat.
Thank you so much!
Gerald Ziemer
Dear Friends,
The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. James 5:16 I like the Romania translation ("Hot" prayers). Many of you have prayed for our dear sister Lucica. Last week she had many different opinions from many doctors, but the final result was to wait for the baby to be delivered and then seek treatment for the cancer that was in the tumor taken from her eyelid. This weekend was another day of rejoicing at church, as she shared the results with us. This week she noticed that she has four more (very small) tumors growing on the same eyelid, and tomorrow (Thursday, May 26) she is going to get them removed. We ask that you please pray for her during this time. We had a great time last Wednesday to sit down with her and her husband and talk and pray with them. Please continue to pray for his repentance, Marian is his name!
We are getting ready to finish the school year here, and have a summer full of camp and evangelistic activities planned. Please pray for us as well, as we share the Word of God with those around us!
Gerald and Kristin

Dear Praying Friends,
I write to you with a heavy heart, and ask that you please pray for a dear lady in our church, Lucica. She has three children, her oldest, Ramon, is one of Zachary's best friends and is his classmate. She is 3 1/2 months pregnant and the doctors just discovered she has cancer. She had a cyst (growth) appear on her eyelid recently and had it removed. The results came back last week that it was cancerous, and other results came back today with the same diagnosis. The doctors have explained to her that she needs to start treatment for her cancer immediately to stop it, but that she cannot start treatment while pregnant. I believe that many of you feel the same way that I do about abortion, so we consulted a christian doctor here in Bucharest. She told us that cancer is fast growing in a pregnant person, and that if no action is taken there is a great possibility the mother will lose her life, and very possibly the life of the baby as well. The other doctors have told her there is a good chance of survival if treated quickly.
I believe that the book of James teaches us to have faith and come to the Lord in prayer, we have done that. Our church has formed a prayer chain this past weekend, and is asking 1.) God to heal Lucica, 2.) bring her peace beyond understanding, and 3.) save her unsaved husband, Marian. I also believe that the book of James teaches us to apply that faith together with the wisdom He has given to certain people (medical professionals) to be able to diagnosis and treat certain illnesses.
Sunday morning she stood up in church and explained that on Friday evening, a total peace came over her that she could not explain. Praise the Lord!
Please join us in praying for a miracle in the life of this dear friend of ours. Pray for wisdom as we counsel, and encourage. Pray for wisdom as we lead our church during this difficult time. We want God to be glorified, and lifted up.
Thank you so much!
Gerald Ziemer
Dear Faithful Friends,
God continues to bless the ministry here in Romania. You can see our church picture in the attached note, it was taken two weeks ago. Notice our family picture also, Michael and Corina will soon pass mom and dad in growth. They love Jesus, and are a true delight. Zachary and Brianna are doing great as well, and have had a good year at the public school here in Fundulea.
Our Easter season was filled with many activities celebrating the resurrection of our Lord. Our neighbor Jeni provided us with a live turkey for Easter, and Kristin and the children went to her house to "prepare" it for our meal, notice the pictures attached.
Special services were held at church, and I believe every age group and SS class had prepared something special. It was a great time of rejoicing. We used the local soccer stadium here in Fundulea to hold a joint evangelistic service on the Monday after Easter, which is also a holiday here. We were joined by our church family from Sinesti (our church plant), families from Florica (our newest evangelistic location), a group from Lehliu, and the brethren church here in Fundulea. We had given many invitations for this event, and there were over 200 who attended and heard the gospel.
Two years ago in my prayer time, I asked God to show me a way to connect with more people here in the town/s we minister in. I realized that nearly everyone has a garden, and I have a small tractor with a roto-tiller on the back (kubota type). Last year I tilled 50 gardens, and this year with another tractor purchased, Marian and I have tilled nearly 200 gardens. People who would not receive a tract from me, or speak with me because I am the pastor at the "repenters" church, were gladly opening their gates for me to come in and till their gardens. Many from our church went along with me and shared the gospel while I was tilling/praying on my tractor. Last year one family came to church, got saved and baptized as a result.
For the last 8 weeks we have had five home Bible study groups in Fundulea, and we hosted one at our home, studying the books of I, II, & III John. You can see the picture attached. One of the families that attended was Mari and Mirabella Palangeanu. They have had a very difficult marriage, and he was recently released from jail. You may remember him from a zipline a couple years ago, as the young man that came to our church to take his daughter out of SS class, and threatened everyone with a knife. God has done a great work in his life, for which we rejoice, but there is much work and many changes yet to be made. I ask that you pray for them.
Summer is quickly approaching, and I have been at Camp Eli the past two days mowing grass with a group from our church. It has been an especially rainy spring, and the grass has grown very thick, and camp looks great. We are in need of repairing some of the cabins on the outside, as the wood doesn't resist the rain and weather very well (maybe vinyl siding?) Pray with us for these needs, and as always we need funds for needy campers. If God leads you to help us, please do so, it is much appreciated.

Dear Family and Friends ,
We want to thank you for your faithful support, God continues to meet the needs of the ministry, and we appreciate you being a part of that blessing!
Today we celebrate "Mothers Day" (March 8) here in Romania, and Kristin is off at school for special programs prepared by the children honoring their mothers. From the pictures attached you see that we celebrated "Ladies Day" at church on Sunday, over 80 ladies attended. They had a fun-filled afternoon, and Kristin challenged them from the Word. Many guests came, please pray for Kristin and our ladies as they visit these guests in their homes over the next few weeks. As you can see the whole family was involved speaking, serving, childcare, or chauffeur (me).
We returned to Romania from furlough a month ago, and have gotten busy once again with the routine of life and ministry. It was so wonderful to see many friends and family during our short visit to the states, and to be able to share in person what God is doing in Romania. Although we know God has called us here as missionaries, it does not get any easier to leave our parents/grandparents driveways knowing it will be a couple years until we see them again. God has blessed us with such godly examples in our parents (Ziemer's and Kenyon's), that the difficulty is in having our children grow up so far from them. Eternity is going to be sweet!
It took a couple of weeks but the children were able to catch up on all their missed assignments, tests, and exams. Michael and Corina made the "honor roll" at Bucharest Christian Academy, and Zachary and Brianna did great as well at the romanian public school here in Fundulea. I have 60 students in my Bible classes every Friday at the public schools here in Fundulea, these continue to be a blessing.
With all the turmoil we see in the world around us, and the drastic changes taking place, it is great to know that we serve an unchanging God. With the price of gas ($7.46 gallon here), and other basic necessities going up, we ask you to pray for our national workers, and church folks who are in need. Pray that we will have wisdom in helping them, and that God would bring more supporters alongide these national missionaries who are so faithfully serving Him.
We trust that you are well, and God continues to bless you beyond your expectations!

Dear Friends,How do we even start to describe our short visit to the states. It has been great to see many of our supporters, although we regret that we cannot make it around to see all of them. We decided on a shorter furlough due to the fact that all four children are in school now, and it is getting harder every time to plan out our schedules. God has blessed, we have spoken in a number of churches, and made personal visits with many families. God provided a full size van for us to use, and as I passed a small Geo Metro last week, I remembered the one that Kristin and I drove on deputation 17 years ago---how times have changed.
We were able to spend time with my family in Knoxville around Christmas, and then traveled to Ohio for a day to spend Christmas with my Grandma Fannie, who turned 90 this year. There were 64 of my relatives there, what fun. We stopped at the Creation Museum near Cincinnati on the way back, what a neat, and educational place.
New Years was spent in South Carolina with Kristin's family, all five of the girls were home. They had also prepared a special surprise 70th birthday party for Mrs. Kenyon, and she was really surprised (at least she said that she was). The few days at grandpa and grandma's went by too quickly, and many tears were shed as we pulled out of their driveway heading to Florida. We arrived here last Friday, and it so good to be with my parents again, what a blessing. We will be in five churches here, and meeting many people who have been faithfully supporting us for many years. It is neat to be here at Word of Life where I spent five years in the early 90's.
Two weeks from tomorrow we head back to Romania, and to the ministry God has called us to. We got a good report of the evangelistic efforts in the town of Florica recently. There were 8 adults gathered for Bible study, and 7 children also learning Bible stories, verses, and songs. Please pray for us, as we seek to plant a church in this town, and for our deacon, Lucian Bordea, who is leading this new ministry. We are trying to raise $400 monthly support for him and this ministry. If you are interested in helping with this need, please email us
We appreciate you and thank you for your faithful prayers and support.
