Dear Friends,

Recently I wrote to you about our trip to Transnistria. Now I want to tell you briefly about another trip to the north of Moldova:

This weekend our team went to the village of Gura Cainarului. There is no church in this village, just a few faithful families. The church of the neighboring village (Pastor Vladimir, who invited us) has been praying about this village, tried to do something, but ran into problems on the part of an Orthodox priest, besides the villagers themselves were not very open. All this happened even though the mayor of the village of Gura Cainarului is the brother of the pastor, Vladimir, who is a believer. Vladimir decided to try sports to evangelize. We stayed there for a football tournament which is tied to the holiday, which often occurs in rural areas of Moldova, "the opening of the sports season."

God is truly great, and we saw His greatness in the fact that people who didn’t want to listen to Gospel, (the village of about 300 people)now listened to the gospel which was proclaimed loudly. Sports became the tool that God used. We told about Christ to the players that played, but in the end, at the awards ceremony, we specifically allocated time for the preaching to all the spectators, the fans. Vladimir invited a pastor from Balti who spoke in the Romanian language, understood by all; he spoke about faith in Christ. For the first time with our project such a large number of people heard about Jesus. In addition during the breaks between matches, one man sang Christian songs. Sometimes, I had the impression I was attending a Christian festival.

You know about my car problem (21 years old) and we prayed it would make it to the village. God was great and kept it going until we returned to Chisinau. Please keep praying about this situation for our future programs. It will cost over $1,000 to repair the car, but God is able. This is all His Business.

Reaching the lost through sports,
Sasha Pulev

Dear Friends,

We want to thank those who joined us in prayer during the Christmas Season (as you know we celebrate Christmas in December and well into January).

At the beginning of December 2011, three thousands letters with Christmas wishes were sent to those who live in the the subdivision where our church is situated. There we announced to them about all the Christmas events at our church:

The first one took part December 15, when 110 young people came to spend two wonderful hours together. They had great fellowship, and heard about Jesus' birth. 70 of them were non Christian. The church youth were supposed to bring small gifts for at least one non Christian, but there were twice more, some of our guys during the program ran to buy Christmas gifts for the rest. We all rejoiced, and all the young people were invited to the youth club at our church (every Saturday) and also to the youth cell groups.

The second project was for the preschoolers and primary schoolers. Our church drama team was invited to perform a drama based on the Christmas story. About 200 kids with their parents enjoyed a 90 minute program and all of them got candy and presents and were invited to the Kids Club we have every Saturday in our church.

The third project was organized by the youth and teenagers at the Kids Department of the Cancer Center. It was not easy at all to bring the joy of Christmas to the hospital where kids and their parents have lost their hope...but all of them were so glad that there are those who thought about them during the Season. They all had a great time singing, playing, sharing and hearing the story of Jesus' coming. We brought them presents which were made by the kids from our church (toys, crayons, crafts) and some fruits.

The fourth one was the project for the poor families in the subdivision of our church. We asked Children Care for the names and addresses of the poor and were given 53 names. Three different groups visited all of the homes and brought them gifts made by church kids, some candies, and fruits. Visiting them we found the poorest family and are going to support them as much as we can as a church.

We appreciate the spiritual and financial support you invest to make the God's kingdom larger!

You co workers in Christ,
Vitaly and Christina for the "Voice of Truth Church"

Dear Special Ones,

Sasha Pulev, sports director of "Voice of Truth" in Chisinau, Moldova, just sent in a beautiful story. The sports team wishes you all a Merry Christmas; they celebrated on January 7, and will continue for another 10 days! Sasha wrote (unedited):

I want to tell you a story about one girl. Story of a girl, which was not like people around, not like her mates. Girl, which was not afraid of questioning herself and the world, girl which wanted to know true answers to questions in which she was interested in. And maybe not everybody perceived her in class, among classmates, but that made hеr stronger, not making her heart bitter.

Once she heard thye Gospel. She heard that, when she was in the gym on volleyball training, not even knowing, what was she waiting for. When she heard the analogies, given from the sport into the spiritual life, she was struck by their consistency. "I would like to argue with something, but I didn't find something...»- she said. Wanting to know more on that Sunday she went with a classmate and friend who invited her to volleyball to the Church. There, a song about Christ that she heard made her cry, and lodged in her heart warmth. She still knew a little about God, who was working wonderfully in her heart, but knew that she had a chance to find out more. And she decided that she would not miss this chance. She decided that she found the answer to many questions and the answer is-Christ ... And the first questions she asked the coach was- how she could give to God her life, and why He needs it.

.... In the evening she gave her heart to Him, Who is not tired of waiting and was knocking before. Since then, she seeks to hallow the world around, getting to know God's character more and more. She has something to strive for and what to change, as each of us ... And she does it, by pressing on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:14)
