The resources available to American
Christians abound. We can choose which church we would like to
attend. We can visit the local Christian bookstore and purchase
study materials. We can subscribe to Christian journals and
magazines designed to challenge the mind and prompt Christian
devotion and discipleship. We can go ourselves or send our
children to Christian schools from kindergarten through graduate
school. Truly America stands alone
among all countries with opportunities for Christians to improve
their minds, increase their devotion and invest themselves in a
ministry of service, and so we are without excuse when we do not.
However, this is not true about almost every other nation on the
earth. Many do not have a choice of which church they will attend
or what religion they will follow: there is only one. Even if a
young Christian believer desires to serve God he often finds
himself without the resources necessary (in some cases he is
without a Bible) to improve His knowledge. He becomes susceptible
to a Christian experience marked by stunted spiritual growth:
unable to fully develop his God-given gifts and talents and
destined to never realize his potential in the Lord.
At TITUS International we are doing
our part to redeem the time and remedy this situation. Our
missionaries become the resource these believers so desperately
need. Although we do have missionary
church planters, most of our missionaries do not enter a country
in order to plant a church themselves; rather, they enter the
country with the intent of training the believers in that country
how to do the work of the ministry. We support, pray for, encourage and lead them.
Finally we rejoice as we see these precious and gifted people
begin to turn their own world upside down for Christ: planting
churches, teaching in schools, staging evangelistic dramas,
leading children's and adult Bible studies and organizing teen
outreach programs. The potential is without limits because our God
is infinite in His Love, in His Grace and in His ability to make
impossibilities possible.
