Dave has ministered in missionary
conferences and meetings in over 200 churches in America and 15
foreign countries. Dave has also had the great privilege of seeing
his missionary service come full circle.
In 1970, Dave and his wife Alice were
working with the Davis family as church-planting missionaries in
Kakogawa, Japan. Among the first to come to
Christ in those early days were some young married couples. Two
couples in particular each had children, one family gave birth to
a boy named Masato. The second family gave birth to a girl named
Miki. Both of these families dedicated their children to the Lord
and continued growing in the grace and knowledge of God. As a
result the two children came to know the Lord as their Savior at
an early age. Many years later, these two children, now adults,
became husband and wife. Mr. & Mrs. Masato Funakoshi surrendered to
missions and attended a Bible college in Florida following their
marriage.
The full cycle of missions began to
occur in 1995 when Masato shared with Dave his missionary call to
the former Soviet Union. Half of their support was raised in the
United States, and the remaining half was raised in Japan. The
Kakogawa Baptist Church, which Dave helped to plant 25-years ago,
became the young couple's sending church [see their sending church!].
Now Masato and Miki Funakoshi serve in Odessa, Ukraine as Titus International
missionaries. Truly God has blessed Dave Marcum and his family to
see the fruits of his missionary labors, now multiplied in
the lives of those whose parents he led to the Lord so many years
ago.
